Brothers: Thatcher and Banks

Every once in awhile, a photographer will have a shoot that stands out from all the others. The subjects are corporative and fun, the weather is perfect, you feel a connection with the family, and the shoot just flows along perfectly. This was that shoot for me, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Thatcher and Banks are two of my favorite little (cow)boys on this planet and by the end of the shoot, I was begging their mom to let me babysit. Thatcher’s dimples and Banks’ freckles literally had my heart within the first five minutes and their Honey Boo Boo impression is none other than adorable. I promised them that if they were good during the shoot, we’d do some photos in their “cowboy outfits.” Lucky for us, as they were putting on their cowboy hats and vests, my friend Molly rides up on her horse, Flint — talk about perfect timing. Molly let the boys ride on Flint and I’m almost positive it made their entire week.

This shoot reminded me how lucky I am to do this for a living. We ran, we raced, we played, we acted silly, we rode horses, we pretended to be cowboys, we made jokes, we ate popsicles, we rolled around on the ground. I came away from the shoot with a full, happy heart thanks to these two boys.
